Senior Scientist - Skincare
|
Senior Scientist - Skincare Working with R&D and Marketing departments, this is a key technical role within the organisation.
Responsibilities:
• Lead Claim Support NPD Skincare category to enable sales of the skincare ranges. • To investigate and present scientific evidence to support product claims in a novel and creative manner within the timeframes of NPD. • To enable registration of products on our markets by ensuring the strongest possible claims are appropriately supported. • Ensure all NPD milestones are met and any lateness is appropriately highlighted and managed to minimise effect on overall project delivery. • Provide Product Claim Report documents on time • Review final catalogue text on time. • Discuss and agree with R&D and marketing achievable product concept firstly at pre-brief stage and then at the assessment of brief. • Develop brand communication strategies with Marketing. • Ensure that each concept is in line with the brand strategy and consumer segmentation. • Discuss NPD briefs with the appropriate R&D teams and use knowledge of the technical support for beneficial action of active ingredients to advise on selection • Develop scientific rationales to define ways of achieving the claims of the brief in a SMART approach • Discuss and agree test methods, study designs and timescales with clinical testing. Identify new ways of deriving and interpreting clinical data and consumer test results with clinical testing. • Ensure that staff resources are used effectively
• Present ingredient options and product stories to Marketing. • Arrange or participate in brainstorming sessions with internal and external participants to find new and innovative approaches to claims generation and support. • Maintain a high level of knowledge of available active ingredients and their effectiveness, relevant scientific publications, measurable benefits of cosmetic products and measurement methods. • Develop an understanding of skin physiology.
Requirements • BSc in scientific or with 3 year working in a similar role in the cosmetic industry. • Experience in a marketing role or further qualification at MSc/ MBA level preferable.
